A pathway to physical, emotional & spiritual wellness

Our wellness program leads our patients and residents on a pathway to physical, emotional, & spiritual wellness. We offer a daily meditation practice, weekly chair yoga, and reiki on an on-demand basis. By participating in these practices consistently, the residents have the opportunity to foster happier, healthier, & more fulfilling lives, cultivate a sense of community and belonging, lower stress levels, regulate sleep cycles, improve immunity, and promote a more affirmative sense of well-being. Often, physical, emotional, & spiritual health are treated separately, yet are very much connected. By cultivating an environment where we honor this integration, we strive to see the whole patient and promote their best self.

Activities Include:

  • One-on-one & Collective Activities
  • Live Entertainment
  • Daily Meditation Practice
  • Chair Yoga
  • Mindfulness Activities
  • Reiki for Residents & Their Loved Ones
  • Breathwork / Breathing Exercises

What is Reiki?
Reiki is a simple energy technique that is used for stress reduction and relaxation. Reiki practitioners use their hands to deliver energy to the body, improving the flow and balance of your energy to support overall well-being.

The goal of reiki is to improve the flow and balance of energy in the body to support healing. Reiki brings a sense of relaxation and stress reduction and is often used to complement other forms of health treatments.

Our Goals:

  • To foster happier, healthier, &
    more fulfilling lives
  • To cultivate a sense of community
    and belonging
  • To lower stress levels
  • To regulate sleep cycles
  • To improve immunity
  • To promote a more affirmative
    sense of well-being

Some quotes of residents and staff who participated
in our Birdsong Wellness program:

“I would give reiki a ten. I feel very relaxed. Palak will be providing reiki sessions, which is a balance of energy, a sense of well-being, and relaxation. The sessions usually last 50 minutes, however if anyone would like a beginner 10–15-minute session to try it that is available. I have had both and it was wonderful and relaxing. I encourage everyone to try it.”
